Procedure · Deadline

Apply before the proposed start date.

The operative date is the date stated in the notice for the new rent to begin. An application made on that date is not before it.

Deadline first

FILE NOW — apply BEFORE the proposed start date.

What to copy from the notice

  1. The notice date, because it selects the applicable regime.
  2. The proposed start date, because the application must be made before it.
  3. The current and proposed rent using the same payment period.

HMCTS guidance describes an application-first sequence in which evidence may be supplied later. The filing deadline is therefore shown before evidence tasks throughout this site.

If the stated date has arrived

The Date & Regime Card labels the stated deadline as passed. It does not backdate an application or determine whether another procedural fact changes the position.
